Is Jacob a doctor?
No. Jacob is a biomedical guide and author. He does not diagnose, does not prescribe medication and does not replace a doctor. He works with the child's lab results to help the family understand them and apply evidence-based supplementation protocols.
What lab tests do I need for the session?
The most useful are the FRAT (cerebral folate antibodies), OAT (organic acids), a toxic metals panel, MTHFR, and urine amino acids. If you don't have any yet, the session starts by identifying which to order first.
What is leucovorin and why does it matter?
Leucovorin is folinic acid — the active form of folate. In children with autism whose folate receptor is blocked, leucovorin can reach the brain through an alternative pathway. Dr. Richard Frye documented improvements in communication in two out of every three FRAT-positive children.
